The cards in the red envelope tell the story of Jesus Christ’s birth, from 6 different perspectives. The stories are designed to help you hear these events in a fresh way. They are drawn from the gospels, Revelation, Isaiah, and other parts of the Bible, as well as historical evidence about their time and culture.

The cards are also designed to be played as a game. Our hope is that you and your loved ones can experience a short, spirit-filled time on Christmas morning playing, laughing, reflecting, and listening.

• Look for connections between the different stories. What ties them together? What makes them distinct?
• What characters do you identify with most?
• Randomly draw a card. How might our understanding of Jesus be different if we only had this part of the story to know him by?
• Is there anything about these stories you find conflicting or confusing?
• Imagine you were turning these stories into a movie\. What details would you add? What other characters might have been present? What challenges might the characters face?
• What things might God be doing in these stories?
• How would you tell this story to someone totally unfamiliar with our world, like an alien? What might be hard for them to understand?

• Store the cards with your Christmas decorations. Next year, read one card a day for the 18 days leading up to Christmas.
• The cards can be used to play Go Fish, or other simple card games.
• If you've got a large group, deal out the cards to everyone present, and have people take turns reading the stories.
