Westwinds Justice Task force

At Westwinds, justice is part of our discipleship—joining God in making the world whole. Like Jesus, we begin with those on the margins, seeing His face in every person and extending His love in real, tangible ways.

Our shared commitments:

  • Build Awareness | Be attentive and connected needs and services in Jackson County and with our global partners
  • Cultivate Partnerships | Collaborate with organizations that share our heart.
  • Make & Keep Commitments | Sustain long-term financial and relational partnerships locally and globally.

Current Partners:

International:
  • Suresh Sawant & Thangkholal Haokip in India – church planting, training pastors, and serving communities in crisis.
Local:
  • Together We Can Make a Difference – food, clothing, and community care in Jackson.
  • Care Team – prayer and encouragement for the sick, hospitalized, or homebound.
  • Jackson Interfaith Shelter- Dinner church and bingo

We meet the first and third Wednesdays at 6:00-7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome—whether you want to serve, give, pray, or simply learn more.
Westwinds Church hosts 4-5 AWARE events each year. These gatherings are where we intentionally slow down and pay attention to the place God has planted us.
We learn about our community from our community—listening to partners, neighbors, and leaders who help us see both the real challenges facing Jackson County and the deep strengths already at work within it. We name what’s hard. We celebrate what’s good. We discover the collaborations, resources, and relationships that are already weaving hope through our neighborhoods.
AWARE events are about becoming better neighbors. They’re about widening our circle of concern and deepening our shared imagination for what love looks like here. Each gathering strengthens relationships and helps us locate our story inside the larger story of what God is doing in our community— in Jackson County, with these people, right now.
