Fall Reset - 3 Important Questions
What might happen if we made a little room to listen?
Fall Reset was a different kind of gathering at Westwinds. Rather than a traditional sermon, we slowed down and moved through three questions together, hearing stories from people in our community and creating space for prayer, confession, communion, and reflection.
Where is my attention?
Who is harmed by my distractions?
To whom or where am I called?
These questions invite us to notice God within the lives we're already living—not someday when things settle down, not when we become better or more spiritual versions of ourselves, but here, among these people and in these places.
And as the morning came to a close, we were left with one more question:
What might God be inviting me into next?
The Three Questions
1. Where is my attention?
Our minds can become so consumed by worry, anxiety, responsibilities, and distractions that we miss what's happening around us. Instead of separating “God” from everything else demanding our attention, we're invited to bring our actual lives into communion with him.
2. Who is harmed by my distractions?
Distraction doesn't only affect us. Sometimes the people closest to us experience our lack of presence. The ancient practice of confession gives us space to name those places honestly and bring them into God's presence.
3. To whom or where am I called?
Calling isn't reserved for pastors, leaders, or people who have everything together. God meets us within our actual lives, among our actual neighbors, coworkers, families, communities, grocery stores, schools, and ordinary places. As we pay loving attention, we can begin to notice where God is already at work and join in.

Reflection
Take some time with the three questions yourself:
Where is my attention?
Who is harmed by my distractions?
To whom or where am I called?
Then, instead of trying to figure out everything that comes after, simply ask:
What might God be inviting me into next?
