The Ministry of Reconciliation

The Ministry of Reconciliation

One of the Practices That Helps Us Center Jesus

On the night Jesus was betrayed, he didn’t fight or flee. He didn’t condemn or escape. He knelt. He served. He stayed at the table. He offered the cup to Judas. He washed the feet of every disciple—including the one who would betray him, the one who would deny him, and the ones who would run.

He said, “They will know you are mine by how you love one another.” And he prayed—not that God would take them out of the world, but that they would be protected in it, as they carried his mission forward. This is what the ministry of reconciliation looks like.

We’re learning to live this out— to offer peace, even to those who wound us. To stay at the table, even when we disagree. To practice love in a real, embodied community—so the world can see what Jesus makes possible.

Jesus didn’t avoid the consequences of rejection. He bore them. But rejection didn’t win.
Resurrection did.

And now, we walk in that power— carrying the ministry Jesus entrusted to us— not to fix the world from a distance, but to be a presence of healing in it.
